Warriors’ Arts
Anthology: The Missouri Humanities Council and the Warriors Arts Alliance have partnered in the Warrior Writers Project to produce an anthology of creative writing and photography by veterans of all conflicts and their families. Photographs selected will be published in black and white. Please include a brief (75 words or less) bio with all submissions.Theme: This anthology is intended to preserve and share the viewpoints and perspectives, as well as stories, of our military veterans. It will serve not just as an outlet for artistic self-expression but also as documentation of the unique aspects of the time of the conflict in our nation’s history.
Mail your submissions of previously unpublished poetry, prose, creative nonfiction (personal essay), or photography, along with your bio and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for notification, to:

Guidelines for the Contests:
Genres: Poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction (personal essay): one entry per person per genre
Prizes: $250 awarded as top prize in each genre
Word Limits: 5,000 words for prose (fiction and creative nonfiction); up to 3 poems (5 pages) for poetry. Submissions exceeding these limits will be automatically disqualified. Limit one submission per person per genre.

Deadline: postmarked by midnight 1 August 2012 (Winners announced by 1 November 2012)
