Last weeks minutes was given and accepted
Qualitative research committee: March 1st, 6 groups will be
designated at the south end of Cape Girardeau where round table
discussions will be held to gather info on the concerns of the people
who live in this area. At the next meeting volunteers will be asked to
head these round table discussions. Out of information gathered, 5
major concerns will be determined and then be taken door to door to
rank community concerns and add concerns not already on the list. When
going door to door 10 areas will be canvassed starting March 16th
until March 29th.
Motion to have chairpersons put together a script for volunteers to
follow at the discussions.
Fundraising Committee: Fundraising event on the terraces on
March 30th with music, speakers, information table, petition signing
tables and T-Shirts for sale. Timeline of event will be ready by next
meeting March 1st.
Special Interest committee:
Erin urges members to write letters please find an issue to get
behind and write to your senators. You can go to the MASW web site to
get info on current issues.
MASW public Policy Writing Contest deadline is March 15th so hurry.
March 1st is MASW's 2nd Annual Issues and Healthcare Delivery,
check it out on the web site.
MASW's Student Advocacy Day is on March 7th in Jefferson City. This
is a free event to help teach students "how to's" of advocacy. If you
would like to attend please contact Lauren Abney via email,

JoAnn Emerson is a keynote speaker March 6th at the "Faces of
Hunger" program located in the U.C. Ballroom. We would like to go as a
group. Tickets are $3 for students and $7 for the general public.
