SCHEDULED STUDY SESSIONS
What are Scheduled
Study Sessions?
Scheduled Study Sessions are a
component of Learning Assistance Programs and they are designed to assist students
in increasing their understanding of course lectures and readings, mastering
course concepts and, at the same time, increasing student competence in
reading, reasoning and study skills. Information pertaining to sessions
offered and times can be found by following the links at the bottom of the
page.
How do
Scheduled Study Sessions work?
Scheduled Study Sessions are offered in selected courses each semester. Trained student specialists, called
Session Leaders schedule and conduct between two to three study
sessions each week.
During the Scheduled Study Sessions,
Session Leaders assist students in
clarifying facts and assignments as well as understanding charts, diagrams and
formulas. In addition, assistance in test taking and practice exams are
provided. Particular attention is given to helping students establish
effective study skills.
Scheduled Study Sessions are free of
charge and are open to all students enrolled in the particular courses
connected with Scheduled Study Sessions.
