Special Collections also houses Southeast Missouri State University Archives, which includes publications, scrapbooks, some administrative records, photographs, minutes, ephemera, and other materials relating to the history of the University from the founding of the Third District Normal School in 1873 to the present.

• Publications - Capaha Arrow, Sagamore yearbooks, Bulletins, and others
• Architectural Drawings and Maps
• Photographs - approximately 8,000 images of various University buildings, people and events
• Clippings Files on various University subjects
• Vertical file material on University subjects including organizations, history, activities, sports, student life, departments, alumni, buildings and other topics
