***IT Open Labs are not available for teaching purposes without reservation. See information below on IT labs that are available for reservation.

 

Kent Training Computer Lab (Kent basement is is operated by the Information Technology Department and is available to Southeast faculty or staff for training reservations each semester. The Kent Training Lab is located in Kent Library, room 112, with an east side exterior entrance only. All 28 computers are networked and offer Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite 2013, Internet applications, and other departmental specific programs. 
Presentation and other equipment available include: 

Instructional computer with CD-Rom 
Remote Mouse 
Document Camera 
VCR 
Overhead Projector 
Electrically Operated Screen 
Laser Printer 
Wireless Microphone

Cable TV

Crisp Hall Lab is operated by the Information Technology Department and is often available to Southeast faculty or staff for training reservations. The Crisp Hall Lab is located in room 215. All 19 computers are networked and offer Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite 2013, Internet applications, and other departmental specific programs. 
Presentation and other equipment available include: 

Laser Printer 
Overhead Projector (upon request only)

Magill Hall Lab is operated by the Information Technology Department and is often available to Southeast faculty or staff for training reservations. The Magill Hall Lab is located in  room 118. All 21 computers are networked and offer Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite 2013, Internet applications, and other departmental specific programs.

Towers Lab is operated by the Information Technology Department and is available to Southeast faculty or staff for training reservations only during the summer semester or during semester breaks. The Towers Lab is located in Towers Complex, room 107. All 46 computers are networked and offer Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite 2013, Internet applications, and other departmental specific programs.

Reserving a Computer Lab 

Contact Information Technology by using the linked form. Make reservations early to ensure availability (Confirmations of reservations will be sent after reservations are made)  Training is required of all presenters. The training is lab specific. Training review is recommended for those that have not used the lab for instructional purposes within the last year.  

Reservations for the Kent Training Lab will not be made for the fall semester until August 1 or for spring until January 2.

Provide the following information when reserving the Computer Lab:  

  • Name
  • Extension
  • Email address
  • Mail stop of person assuming the responsibility for the lab
  • Equipment to be used 
  • Who training is being provided to
  • Department the lab is being reserved for
  • Computer software to be used
  • Whether software installation will be required (If installation is required, charges may be incurred. Allow for 3 weeks for installation)
  • Date and time the lab will be needed
  • Number of people using the lab

Software Installations
 

You are not allowed to install computer software on the training lab computers. If software installation is required, please provide software license documentation that states this type of installation or an installation for this use is allowed. Once the software media and licensing is received, it could take 2-3 weeks for installation and proper testing.  Please plan accordingly.

Charges

The labs are free for Southeast Missouri State University faculty, staff, and enrolled student trainings. Off campus, camps, and other uses will be charged a usage fee of $25 per hour of use. If you are not sure if your use would be considered a chargeable reservation, please contact Martha Henckell at 651-2217.  Special printing arrangements will be required if a printer is used in the Crisp or Towers computer labs. A charge of $0.07 per copy will be assessed.

Availability

Contact Paul Belvin at 651-7390 to check on availability for specific dates.

  • Kent Training Lab is available throughout the year except between the hours of 5pm - 10pm on Sunday - Thursday during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Crisp Hall is available for reservations throughout the fall and spring semester but for 2 hour blocks or less until 4 p.m. During the summer semester, it is available at any time.
  • Towers Computer Lab is available only during the summer semester.
  • Magill, room 118, is available only during the summer semester or for teaching purposes only after regular operational hours.
  • Dempster Computer Lab, room 113, and Kent Lab, 3rd floor, are not available for reservations.
