Microsoft has released Vista, its latest version of
Windows. Because the Vista operating system may not be
compatible with some hardware and software applications,
Information Technology advises that you consult your
hardware/software vendor prior to purchase to ensure
that there are no compatibility issues.
Due to several incompatibilities between the new
Microsoft Vista operating system and various hardware,
services, and applications, Information Technology
cannot fully support Vista until these issues are
addressed by the software and hardware vendors.
If you are planning to upgrade your current computer
to Windows Vista, please note the above mentioned
incompatibilities still apply and that testing has
revealed a significant performance loss due to hardware
limitations on older computers. Most users will need to
purchase new computers in order to run Windows Vista
efficiently. Microsoft provides an
upgrade advisor tool on its web site that can
determine if your computer is capable of running Vista.
