1. Click Start, point
to Settings, click Control
Panel, and then double-click Network
Connections.

2. Right mouse click the Wireless Network
Connection icon.
3. Click Properties.

4. Click the Wireless Networks tab.
5. Under Preferred networks, click Add…

6. In Network name (SSID), type
SoutheastResnet (for the dorms) or
SoutheastSecure (for Academic buildings).
7. In Network Authentication, choose
WPA2.
Make sure Data encryption is set to
AES.

8. Click the Authentication tab at the
top.
9. In EAP type, choose
Protected EAP (PEAP).
10. Click the Properties button.

11. Click the Configure… button, near
the Select Authentication Method.
12. Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows
logon name and password (and domain if any)
option.

13. Click OK four times to close all
the properties windows.
14. Click the balloon tip that pops-up in your system
tray that reads Click here to select a
certificate or other credentials for connection to the
network SoutheastResnet/SoutheastSecure.
Note: The balloon tip will only
pop-up if in range of the wireless network and may take
a few seconds before the tip pops-up.

15. In the User name text box, type
your Southeast Key.
In the Password text box, type your
Southeast Key password.
In the Logon domain text box, type
SEMODOM and click OK.

16. Click the balloon tip that pops-up
in your system tray that reads Click here to
process your logon information for the network
SoutheastResnet/SoutheastSecure.
Note: The balloon
tip will only pop-up if in range of the wireless network
and may take a few seconds before the tip pops-up.

17. Click OK to validate server
certificate.

You have to register your wireless network card one time
per semester before the wireless connection will work.
To do this:
• Open your Internet browser.
• Follow the ResNet connection instructions on the
ResNet Registration webpage. If your browser does not
redirect you to the ResNet page, type in
http://splat.semo.edu in the address bar.
Your computer is now setup to automatically connect to
the SoutheastResnet/SoutheastSecure wireless network.
Your computer should automatically connect to this
network when it detects the signal.
