How to setup student email on an Android device (version 2.2 and 2.3)


1. 
On the home screen, touch the Email icon

 

 


2.  Insert your student Email Address and Password

 

 

3.  Choose Manual Setup

 

 

4.  Tap IMAP account 


5.  This will open up the Incoming Mail Settings.  The username will default to your SE Key and it will pull over your password.  Select IMAP server and change to student.semo.edu, next select Security type and change it to SSL (Accept all certificates).  Select Next

 

 

6.  Next it will ask for the Outgoing server settings.  Select SMTP server and add student.semo.edu, next select Security type and change it to SSL (Accept all certificates).  Select Next

 

 

 

7.  Select Next

 

 

8.   Create an Account name for this mailbox (Optional).  Select Done

 

 

Mail will verify your settings by connecting to the server. You will need to have a Wi-Fi access or cellular Internet connection.

 

 

Note: Email on Android devices requires saving your password. Anyone who has access to your device may read and send email on your account.
