Suggested Timeline for Summer Candidates for Graduation
Who Wish to Participate in the Preceding Spring Commencement Exercise
Students who will finish all their graduation requirements in the summer semester will graduate in the summer, but may be eligible to participate in spring commencement. Because Southeast does not have a summer commencement ceremony, summer grads are the only students allowed to participate in a commencement prior to their graduation semester.
Students graduating in the summer who wish to participate in the spring commencement exercise need to start preparing now, especially if they are completing internships during the summer. Below is a time line to help you adequately prepare for your graduation.
NOTE: For students who will be transferring summer credits from another school, proof of enrollment is required. If the transfer school’s summer enrollment schedule does not permit the student to provide proof of enrollment by established deadlines, the student may obtain a letter from the school’s registrar indicating that the required course is offered, and that the student is eligible to attend. This will temporarily allow the student to be approved as a candidate for graduation. To remain a candidate, the student must enroll, and provide proof of enrollment as soon as possible.
