A variety of local and national resources are available to
assist school districts who serve students who are blind or visually impaired.
The resources include information, organizations, agencies, schools for the
blind, and catalogs of equipment and technology.

Missouri School for the Blind

The outreach services provided by the
Missouri School for the Blind include assessment services, VIISA, INSITE,
and MoSpin. To access the Outreach Services Department, or acquire
information about the residential educational program call 314-776-4320.
APH Materials Center
The APH materials center is housed at
the Missouri School for the Blind. It maintains the Federal Registry of
students who are legally blind as well as the Federal Quota Funds. The
Federal Quota Funds are used to purchase instructional materials and
supplies for students who are visually impaired. In order to access these
funds, your student must be registered with the Federal Quota each

Rehabilitation Services for the
Blind

Wolfner Library for the Blind
and Visually Handicapped

SADI and SEMO-TECH

SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence, Inc. is the Independent Living
Center serving Cape Girardeau, Perry, Scott, Bollinger, and Mississippi
counties. SADI offers four core services (Information and Referral,
Advocacy, Skills Training, and Peer Support), self-directed personal care,
transportation, client assistance with rent, utilities, and medication,
and a Benefits Specialist. In addition, SADI offers SEMO-TECH - a
regional outreach center of Missouri Assistive Technology Project. SEMO-TECH
provides access to assistive technology and related information.
