INTERESTED IN ALPHA XI DELTA?

Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity has initiated more than 120,000 women. We currently have 110 college chapters throughout the United States, and Alpha Xi Delta continues to expand.

How do I become a member?

Because Alpha Xi Delta is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference, we recruit new members under their guidelines. The most common way to become a member of Alpha Xi Delta is to participate in the formal recruitment (rush) process. Contact your campus Panhellenic Council or Greek Office on the dates of formal recruitment.

If a chapter has vacancies in its membership total at the end of formal recruitment, Alpha Xi Delta also offers potential members the chance to go through an alternate recruitment process called Continuous Open Bidding. The COB process is a great way for you to get to know Alpha Xi Deltas on your campus in a more casual setting. COB usually occurs after formal recruitment is over or during semesters when formal recruitment is not held. New Member Experience

Over the course of a few short weeks, Alpha Xi Delta new members begin to form bonds of friendship that will last a lifetime. Many Alpha Xi Delta members, young and old, say that their fondest memories of Alpha Xi Delta come from the time they spent as new members. It is a time to learn about chapter life, our history, financial responsibilities, and Fraternity programs, including academic achievement and philanthropy service.

Some facts about Alpha Xi Delta's new member program:

• The new member period only lasts 5 to 8 weeks, depending on the college campus.
• New members are welcome to start showing their Alpha Xi Delta pride by wearing letters as soon as they pledge.
• All Alpha Xi Delta chapters have fun and innovative ways to provide academic assistance to new members.
• Because the new member period is intended to be a fun-filled and positive time, Alpha Xi Delta has strong policies against hazing activities, which includes scavenger hunts, imposed curfews, quizzes, blindfolding or forcing someone to drink alcohol.
• We care about the safety and health of our new members. As a result, Alpha Xi Delta has clear alcohol policies intended to help members, new and initiated, make good choices about alcohol use.

The Collegiate Experience

As a collegiate member of Alpha Xi Delta, you'll have an experience unlike any other on your college campus. When graduation day arrives, you'll be able to reflect on your college years and marvel at all that you have learned about yourself and the world around you through Alpha Xi Delta.

These life lessons come in various shapes and forms. Alpha Xi Delta's educational programs center on topics that you can't learn in a classroom, such as time management, healthy living, personal safety and working with others. Our academic achievement programming will help you to excel in your coursework. Through Choose Children, our national philanthropy, you'll experience the joy that comes from touching the life of a child. Alpha Xi Delta also offers an array of leadership opportunities that will help you make a positive impact in college and beyond.

As an Alpha Xi Delta, you belong to an organization of high ideals and purposes. These sentiments are best expressed in The Symphony of Alpha Xi Delta, our open creed. It is the responsibility of every Alpha Xi Delta to strive to realize her potential and help her sisters realize theirs.

After Graduation: Alumnae Experience
