WAITING LIST FOR CLOSED CLASSES

Dept of Accounting & MIS Waiting List Policy (PLEASE READ)

The following information outlines the current Dept. of Accounting & MIS "Waiting List" policy and procedures for students looking to add into closed course sections (i.e., courses that have reached expected enrollment capacities, or are closed for other enrollment management priorities).

  • Because students can submit a Closed Section “Waiting List Form” for a course section that is neither closed nor full (a process the department has no control over), be advised that a Waiting List Form submitted to the Dept. of Accounting & MIS for a course section that is not closed (or not full) will not be accepted and will be considered invalid and discarded. Also, the Department will stop accepting Waiting List Forms after the first day of classes.
  • To be placed on a closed course waiting list, a Waiting List Form request (below) must be submitted online. There is no paper version of the Waiting List Form.
  • Completed (submitted) Waiting List Forms are automatically routed via email to the department for processing. Submissions to the Dept. of Accounting & MIS for course sections are accepted on a first come first served basis. Your place on a waiting list depends on the date and time that your Waiting List Form request was received by our department.
  • Enrollment levels for closed course sections are checked frequently. Waiting list students are emailed as openings occur (as seats become available).
  • When a seat opens up in a course section we will automatically process an override to the class, per your request. We assume that you want the class because you submitted the Waiting List Form. Please check your email periodically to see if an override has been processed to a requested class. You will have 3 business days after the override has been processed to add the class yourself online. If you do not add the class within that time, the override will be removed.
  • It is your responsibility to notify our office, in a timely manner, if you want to be removed from a specific waiting list.
  • An override not used by the end of the 3rd business day after the date we send you the email will be reassigned to the next student on the waiting list for that specific course section. Your waiting list request will be considered again after you contact us.
  • If you are still on a waiting list after classes begin, and there is a closed course section that you still want to add, you may appear in person at the first class meeting to find out from the instructor if there are any available seats in that class. If there is an available seat for you, the instructor will need to contact the administrative assistant to process an override for that course section.
  • NOTE: Please enter your ID number and not your SS number. IMPORTANT: You must use your student ID number and not your Social Security number on this form. Any form with a Social Security number instead of your student ID number will be discarded.
